My super easy morning smoothie

Morning smoothie

I love smoothies. But when I try to find smoothie recipes online, they always seem so complicated, and I want something simple.

Smoothies should be easy, quick and delicious, especially in the morning when you don’t have the time or energy to prepare a full meal. Add a little oil and something green in your smoothie, and it will keep you nourished and full until lunch!

Here’s my morning “usual”:

1 banana
7 oz (= 200 g) of frozen berries
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup (= 1,5 dl) cold water
(handful of spinach or kale)


Depending on how powerful your blender is you might have to thaw your berries (such as large strawberries) in a microwave just a bit to make them a little softer.

Then put all the ingredients in the blender and turn it on. That’s it, enjoy!

I usually use strawberries and/or raspberries and add a little redcurrants or blackcurrants,  blueberries and even gooseberries work too. Bananas are great in smoothies as they’re so sweet that you don’t have to add any sugar.

You could also use natural yogurt, coconut milk, coconut water or almond milk instead of water in this recipe.  I like the “clean” taste of berries, that’s why I have just water.

You could also vary the amount of water: If you want to eat your smoothie with a spoon, you should add just a little or no water at all.
