What a week it’s been. I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t done that well this week.
Well, my diet has been OK. I haven’t eaten anything that’s not allowed, so I have to be pleased with that. But my workouts… Or the lack of them.
I haven’t done 30 Day Shred once this week.
There, I said it. I already thought about taking the word 30 Day Shred off from the title of this post. Well, I’m going to have to if I keep this up.
Here’s my report on week 2:
Week 2: January 8 – 14, 2016

Week 2 has been a lot easier actually when it comes to Whole30 – nearly all cravings are gone! And towards the end of week two I’m already starting to see some changes: I think my skin is looking better. It’s not that I’d usually have acne or anything like that but I do get some spots occasionally. And blackheads. Skin looks and feels smoother, like it’s better hydrated.
This Friday started very poorly: I was late for work so I didn’t have any breakfast and I hadn’t packed a lunch – and that’s never a good thing. I just grabbed some fruit and nuts for lunch at work and that was it.
Perhaps that’s why I didn’t have the energy to do my workout later in the evening? Or then I’m just lazy. When I got home I was obviously starving so I had some sausages, almonds and fruit. The only picture I have from that horrible day is this:
Not a good day.
Today was a sad day: I attended a funeral.
I had some salad at the reception – I’m glad there was some – and bought a rotisserie chicken on my way home.
I did a bit better today when it comes to food, after two days of not eating nearly enough:
Today I also went for a long walk. It was freezing cold with lots of snow. And I also nearly killed my roast beef. I was writing 53 ways to lose weight and save money so intently that I forgot all about it. It was way beyond well done when I took it out. I ate it anyway.
Today I’m really happy with my choices of food:
It’s day 11 today and my pants feel tighter, what is going on?
I remembered that there’s a Whole30 timeline and went have a look at it. It says:
“Day 8-9: For the love of Gosling, my pants are TIGHTER.”
Ok so it’s normal. My inner calendar is just a few days late. I should actually be already at:
“Days 10-11: The Hardest Days.”
Great. I’m looking forward to that next then!

And I also did some form of exercise: I took a Bollywood dance lesson! 🙂 It is so much fun. I enrolled myself on a course that takes place each Tuesday this spring.
Today I ate:
I saw a friend at lunch time and we ate out at a restaurant. I’ve tried to avoid restaurants because it just isn’t worth it eating out right now. There was a buffet though for lunch so it was really easy to choose some roast pork, thyme potatoes and salad for lunch.
Another day when I hadn’t packed lunch… There’s a decent salad bar on my way to work though so I had a salad base and added chicken, olives, onions and mixed fruit to my salad.
Today I also had:
I think I’m feeling less bloated.
Goals for next week
I am upset I didn’t do the 30 Day Shred workout this week so that’s my goal for next week: I need to do it more often!
When it comes to Whole30 I’m going to have to cook more and be more versatile. And have fish – I must have some fish next week. A reader reminded of it last week and I thought I’d have some this week but then – nothing happened.
This week went by so quickly.
